Culture in the Era of Digitalization: Social and Philosophical Understanding

The article deals with the phenomenon of a digital society and a digital culture as a consequence of the penetration of digital technologies into the main components of the sphere of culture, influencing the formation of a new cultural experience and changing behavioral and cultural preferences. The article highlights the specific characteristics of a digital culture associated with qualitative changes in such social parameters as changing the perception of time, the emergence of new forms of communication, the development of a different style of behavior of individuals, changing forms of employment of individuals, and the formation of new institutional settings of everyday life. The authors note the ambiguity of the phenomenon under study, which, on the one hand, is actively implemented in all spheres of social life and becomes an inevitable condition for the existence of social institutions, socio-cultural communication, social forecasting and the planetary perspective on the whole. On the other hand, the authors raise the question – how much technical progress is needed, which turns against the person himself and leads to the elimination of jobs, the rejection of the analytical perception of information, to the loss of the ability of logical thinking, the replacement of live communication with the screen one. At the same time, the authors note the phenomena which have evolved in recent years: media asceticism (conscious restriction of access to media information and the use of gadgets), which is becoming the sign of a social elite; increasing archaization of regions around the world when using the latest technology for archaization processes. All this requires further attention and socio-philosophical analysis of the problems raised in the article.
