Functional Characteristics of the Integral Individuality of Students in the Context of Potentially Conflicting Interactions

The article presents the results of an empirical study, the purpose of which is to study individual differences in the manifestation of functional features of the integral individuality in students in the implementation of interaction in a frustrating situation, considered as potentially conflictual. On the basis of the conducted statistical research, significant differences in the manifestation of the functional characteristics of a personality are revealed, depending on the subjective idea of one’s own communicative effectiveness. It was found that, depending on the prevalence of a positive or negative perception of one’s own communicative effectiveness, a different integration of individual and personal functional properties of individuality is revealed. The escalation of the conflict in a frustrating situation in two compared groups depends on the degree of psychodynamic adaptability and emotionality in combination with a low level of self-regulation and an unformed individual style of controlling emotional reactions. The data obtained can be used in the planning and implementation of psychological counseling for students implementing non-adaptive ways of interpersonal interaction. Compensation for low-level psychodynamic adaptability and pronounced emotionality is possible due to the development of an optimal style of self-regulation in the context of purposeful psychological influence.
