Moral Nature of Philosophy

The article explores the moral nature of philosophy. The source of philosophy is the duality of human existence. Philosophy is moral in its essence, being a way of life which actualizes the contradictory unity of the dual human nature in thoughts and deeds. Historically, there were three types of understanding the philosophy: the Sophia type, the epistemic type and the technematic type. The Sophia type, first formulated by Pythagoras, comes from the idea of love of wisdom. Being the fullness of knowledge, wisdom is accessible only to God. Man’s lot is the eternal search for wisdom.

Scientific and Technical Rationality: Horizons of Interaction

The article develops the author’s concept of relations between communication and isolation in the structure of the totality of technology and science, the ratio of rational to normative scientific, cognitive and technical structures. The focus is on the nature of ideals and norms of scientific and technical research, the types of scientific and technical rationality, their interdependence, and their role in cognition. The aim of the work is a comparative analysis of scientific and technical rationality based on the study of the foundations of science, technology and paradigms.

Problems and Concepts of Philosophy and Philosophy of Science: the Phenomenon of Contextuality

This article refers to the analysis of a ratio of science and culture in the context of the new European philosophy. Science as a sociocultural phenomenon always had a special place in culture. Rapid development of science within the last two centuries naturally forces philosophy to look for new approaches to understanding of the nature of scientific knowledge and scientific activity.

Holding onto Truth: Philosophy and Politics of Mahatma Gandhi

The article is devoted to understanding the concept of “holding onto truth” (Satyagraha), which was developed by Mahatma Gandhi in the process of his struggle against British racism and colonialism. The purpose is to analyze the formation of the Satyagraha philosophy in the context of the life path of Gandhi and his political activities. The novelty of the proposed approach is determined by the desire of the authors to consider the philosophy of Satyagraha in comparison with the thesis of K. Marx that philosophy can change the world.

The Ethic Aspects of the Problem of Text in U. Ecos Works

The article is dedicated to the analysis of the problem of text in structuralism and post-structuralism, and to its realization in U. Ecos fiction and scientific works. It is demonstrated that Ecos conception of open work and his main artistic principles coincide with the general post-structural conception of the world as the text. In the article this conception and Ecos ethic positions are compared, and the conclusion about their correlation is made. It implies the certain ethic commitment of the notion of textual reality.

 

Philosophy in the Risk Case: Possibilities of Thinking

The article is dedicated to an analysis of the modern situation in philosophy. The analysis of Hegels conception in the history of philosophy demonstrates that modern philosophy is in the situation of choice between the end of the philosophy, from the one hand, and the being in the field of the Hegels program (this also means the end of the philosophy). In the article there is an analysis of possible decision of this problem by the case of the risk opening new horizons for the philosophical thinking.

In page the opportunity of the decision of a mind-body problem from positions of the "antinaturalistic" concept of consciousness is considered. From the given concept, not only the consciousness exists in the World, but also the World as the whole - exists inside of consciousness. The concept of "Absolute" - "Universum of possible experience" is entered. Empirical "stlf" - is result of self-restriction of Absolute. The physical reality is thought as the system of restrictions generating empirical self.
