Value Relation and Cognition
The article is devoted to the consideration of the ontological meaning of the concept of «value relation» in the process of cognition. The scientific novelty of the research consists in substantiating the methodology of a holistic consideration of the problem of the role and place of the value relation in the system of bases of scientific cognition. This methodology assumes the consideration of social, historical and epistemological factors and allows us to consider the development of science in connection with the values of the dominant scientific paradigm. It is argued that becoming being is valuable in its essence and always known as being of significant things and concepts. The conclusion is that the value of the elements of the scientific theory is on-duty, that is, the subordinate goal of research. The value relation fixes on the preconscious level positive and negative guidelines that form a complex system of various methods for achieving certain goals of cognition. It is realized not only in the relation between the “subject” and the “object” and not only within the framework of the social being of man, but is a form of realization of the fundamental for the emergence of the existing being of the individual – the practical handling of entity. With the change in knowledge of the entity, the methods of its use change, and, consequently, the meaning of the essences that are distinguished by the individual, that is, their value for the individual.
