Article is devoted to the question of use of social memory as the main resource of the modernization processes proceeding in modern Russia. The author analyzes actual strategy of the appeal to the past, coming to a conclusion that the Russian modernization is characterized by the special political and sociocultural goals, is cardinal not similar to reference points of «catching-up modernization».

Strategy of a Policy of Memory on Postimperial Space

Article is devoted transformation of social memory in the conditions of the post-Soviet territory. Specificity of the post-Soviet territory is designing of alternative types of the social memory meaningly opposed to the Soviet past. On the basis of the spatial analysis of social memory presented in works by P. Nora, and P. Burde’s structuralist methodology the author considers change of a symbolical configuration of the post-Soviet territory in which peripheral types of social memory take a dominating place.

The Basictrends of Virtualizationof the Social in the Information Age

In this article the phenomenon of virtualization of the social reality is considered. There are many definitions of virtualization in the scientific literature.Some authors define virtualization as a replacement of reality by the images; others prefer to consider virtualization as a process of creating an alternative social space. The article discusses modern problems of inheritance and perception of the past from the standpoint of the categorical apparatus of social philosophy. The conceptual bases of the analysis are connected with the comprehension of the heuristic possibilities of the concepts “social space”, “living space”. When analyzing the ontology of social space, three types of spatial relationships should be considered: institutional, spatial-stratification and civilizational. Network Bases of Social Memory

In article change of models of studying of social memory in the context of formation of network society is analyzed. The author states need of transition from substantive to relativistic the analysis in this connection selects the main methodological characteristics of network model of social memory: polylog, media, process and context. Use of these methodological principles allows to investigate memory not as a certain set of memories and as dynamic set of the social communications and the practice causing effect of the appeal to the past.
